Introduction on the Faculty of Accounting and Business Management

Faculty of Accounting and Business Management (FABM) is one of the leading faculties of VNUA, that has more than 60 years of experience in education, training, and providing high quality human resources in the fields of Accounting, Business Administration, Agribusiness and Finance in bachelor, master and PhD degrees.

Vision

Toward 2030, the FABM becomes one of the leading units in education and research in Vietnam and the region, provides excellent human resources, and exhibits important contributions to the socio-economic development, industrialization and modernization of the country.

Mission

To educate and develop highly qualified graduates in the fields of accounting, auditing, corporate finance, agribusiness management, tourism, e-commerce, logistics, and banking; To organize and conduct scientific research activities on accounting, auditing, business management, marketing, finance, and agribusiness; To cooperate with domestic, regional, and international scientists in terms of implementing in-depth research on agribusiness management and public and private policy consultancy; To provide consultant, training, knowledge transfer and solution services in the field of management, business, accounting, and auditing based on the needs of the society.

Organizational structure

The managerial board of FABM comprises the Dean and two Deputy Deans. FABM has five departments: Business Management; Finance; Financial Accounting; Managerial Accounting and Auditing; and Marketing; a secretary office is in charge of supporting for the faculty and Division of Consulting and Services (Figure 1.1). Besides, FABM is a member of the Vietnam Federation of Accountants and Auditors.

Education and training

FABM provides bachelor, master, and PhD programs, in which:

- Bachelor programs comprise 8 disciplines: Accounting, Business Management, Agribusiness, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Finance-Banking, E-Commerce, Tourism Management and Development, and an advance training program (Agribusiness Management, taught by English collaborated with University of Wisconsin–Madison, US; obtained the AUN-QA certificate in 2018).

- Master and PhD programs: FABM provides two master programs in Accounting and Business Management; and a PhD program in Business Management.

Scientific research, technological transfer, and international cooperation

In addition to education and training, FABM always states that scientific research and technological transfer are the crucial mission. For the period 2017-2022, Faculty has implemented numerous research activities in both domestic and cooperation with oversea partners. 108 projects and programs in different levels were conducted; more than 50 articles were published in international journals; 120 papers were published in domestic journals and 30 publications were books/chapters. Most of the researches significantly contribute to the social and economic development, especially for consulting policies in taxation, accounting, auditing, finance, and business.
